You do realize there are 31 other teams in the NFL, right?

I just have 0 interest in Vernon Davis, just way too inconsistent. For every big game there are 3 goose eggs. Pass

pretty much sounds like anyone not named Graham, Gronk, Witten, or Gonzalez.

yeah....but those guys go in the 6th or earlier. Vernon's getting picked that high but doesn't have what it takes to be flexploit

yeah maybe so... its just he's the clear cut choice to me after those other Big 4 at TE.

one guy who seems to be slipping a little too far IMO on some projections is Antonio Gates. He's had at least 7 TD's in the last nine seasons. You have to like that if you still play in a standard scoring league.

Ht / Wt: 6'4' / 260

Only one tight end in the history of the NFL has reached 1,000 yards at age 33 or more.
In 1965, Pete Retzlaff had 1,190 receiving yards at age 34. Antonio Gates, who turned 33 on Tuesday, is highly unlikely to become the second man to achieve the feat. Over the last two seasons, he's averaged just 47.0 yards per game while showing rapidly declining speed. He'll also be needed as a blocker often this year thanks to the Chargers' brutal offensive line. Owners drafting off Gates' name value are going to be disappointed.

Wonder if these are the same guys that predict Ryan Mathews to be a top 5 back every year. Gates will still be a force, when healthy. His ADP is so low this year that he presents exceptional value to those willing to play chicken with his injuries.

I wouldn't let him pass the 9th, and I'm keeping Jimmy Graham.

not that I would subscribe to this, but yahoo has him projected at 13th best overall

The one I just pulled up has him at #10. 10-13 seems pretty fair.

eta: (as a conservative estimate)

I got gates last year thinking he was due for a big bounce back season......boy I was wrong there.

semi-related, but I'm surprised at the number of guys I've seen hyping up rivers this year.

Yeah, I'm drafting my QB late this year. Did last year, too.

oh yeah, I'm not saying he's going to comeback and shock anybody or anything like that but he's been pretty consistent with the TD's over the years. Man, things have really changed out in SD. They haven't had a running game since LT left and their line has sucked arse the last few years. Rivers hasn't done his part either and I think he's let it get to him because his play has been a lot more sloppy recently.

perhaps the new staff can patch up some things but I don't think I will target anyone on that team unless its just some late round flier. I thought Vincent Brown was looking good last year but of course he got hurt...

Denario Alexander's final 9 games last year in SD

avg 4.11 catches, 73.11 yards, .77 TDs

non-PPR avg 11.931
PPR avg 16.041

about the same as colston, crabtree, victor cruz

oh I'm not touching Rivers, I don't think its an issue of the talent around him. It looks more like he's lost a good bit of arm strength

I've had Owen Daniels each of the last 2 seasons. Never disappoints. Not top tier but I'd say hes the best of the 2nd group
