Saturday, I went to Lilette Restaurant (3637 magazine street, between louisiana and napoleon) and was in shock that they had marlin on the menu. An hour from Venice? I had no idea anyone in the contiguous 48 still had marlin on the menu.

I didn't know it was considered edible. Have never spoken to anyone that has mentioned eating it. Thought is was just a sport fish, good to hear it isn't wasted.

My dad tried it in Costa Rica and said it was amazing. I'm not sure how it was prepared though

I had it in cabo and enjoyed it. It's not supposed to be on any menus in the US.

Consider me disappointed. I've always liked lillettes.

In Hawaii they eat the hell out of it. I went on a fishing trip and hooked one. I said ya'll ready to release it? He said hell naw, we are going to sell it to the local markets etc. He said if we release it the tiger sharks would have their way due to the fact the fish is so distressed.

You can buy Marlin dip in South FL. Right across from the Seminole Hard Rock Casino at a place called Delaware Chicken Farm.

The Chicken Farm

No way to tell if it's actually marlin, but the shite is good.

The way it was explained to me was that it was Pacific marlin flown in.

I have never seent it on a menu.

Maybe they murdered some FL marlin and are serving it up? Just like we murder the FL tarpon.
