I think lamin is going to have a stout season, but I'm questioning tahj jones and the other OLB due to their lack of size abilities to stop the run. I know tahj has speed, but how does his 205 pound frame stop a 260 pound tightend or a 230 pound runningback that is twice his size? Has he gained any weight? This might sound stupid but I'm very curious

With unbridled enthusiasm.

I wouldn't worry about Tahj. At some point it will be Barrow, Debo and Kwan. Whether that's against TCU or a few games later is the question.

This. And they will be a nightmare for JFF and opponent's running game.

Kwon will be an All American if he stays healthy

Debo Jones is the same weight as Tahj, btw...about 205. Clearly, Chavis prefers speed over size at SAM.

Personally, I think you'll see Tahj-Barrow-Alexander to start out. Bear in mind we can move Barrow over to WILL whenever and bring Welter in at MIKE.

But 1st string and 2nd string at SAM are both 205.

And that's not even counting some potential impact freshman like Melvin Jones and perhaps Beckwith.

We also have Lamar Louis who can play MIKE or WILL.

True. However, Debo is a fricking freight train.

Oh I know, I just love the way Debo plays. He's my non-Chris Hanson man-crush player.

I got this from a reliable source who got it straight from the horses mouth (Chavis) that DJ Welter will be the starting MLB and the job is his to lose. Now, that's not saying that he won't lose it. I am just passing on the info.

Tahj and Debo seem very similar. Debo is a little more aggressive and finishes tackles a bit better.

But don't forget Tahj was a ST beast and solid backup before getting suspended.

Could see Welter playing on 1st and 2nd downs, then shifting Barrow to MIKE on 3rd down while bringing Kwon in at WILL.

Yeah, they tried that in the Spring and when all of those athletes are on the field they make Welter look like a high school player. He may start against TCU but that won't last long.

You should watch Tahj Jones take on 300+ pound linemen. He does really well. In fact he's probably the best player on the defense in terms of taking on blockers. He's relentless and very strong. At 205 pounds he does better than most 240 pound LB's.

True. However, Tahj is regarded as one of the hardest hitters on the team.
