Will Smith really has to tear it up this season for the defense to play anywhere close to the offense.

this is why I'm not taking this guy or his rankings seriously.

The same Dolphins that had an identical record as the Saints with a rookie quarterback and the most pedestrian group of receivers in the entire league in 2012, but were also two Dan Carpenter 40-something yard missed field goals away from going 9-7?

Those Dolphins? The ones who massively upgraded glaring holes this offseason?

While agreeing that 19 is entirely too low for an elite offense and head coach, both of which the Saints have, I fail to see why 14 is such an absurd spot for Miami.

It cracks me up how some still treat them as if they're the Jaguars. Tony Sparano is gone yall.

Agree, fins will be improved. I think Detroit is too low on that list.

And while their offense might not scare anyone on paper, Cleveland's defense is salty. I think they'll be better than their 2012 record also.

Unless I can get a guarantee that Adrian Peterson will go for 2K again, I think the Vikings are high. Cordarelle Patterson will have to emerge as an established deep threat and Ponder will have to improve his deep ball. (Which I'm not sure is possible because he's limited physically.)

Too high? Too low? What? I think it's too high, personally, but I know these lists are heavily weighted by the year prior.

Just trying to give them respect as the champs I'm guessing. I think the Bengals win that division this season. Call me crazy, but with the Steelers and Ravens in a bit of rebuild mode, I believe they take the crown. Cleveland should also be very competitive; they will have a really stout D.

I don't think thats farfetched at all. Baltimore has lost just about half of their starters from last year. Pitt has an aging defense and lost a huge weapon in Wallace.
Cincy has a very, very good defense and if Dalton can put it together, he's got Green, Eifert, and Gresham to throw to.

I actually felt like Dalton overachieved his rookie season. He certainly could become a top NFL qb but I'm still not totally convinced

They have a lot of talent overall though. Could easily see them getting 10-12 wins this season. Will be a fun division to watch.

The NFC West will be super fun also, will probably be the most interesting division to watch this season. Hell, the entire NFC will be a blood bath most likely.

Yes it will be, and I'm very happy the NFC South and West play each other this year. Keeps things interesting.

The Chiefs at 30 are the most under-rated team in this ranking. Vikings most over-rated IMO.

I'm not. That stretch of San Fran, Atlanta 4 days later, then travel all the way to Seattle for a monday night game is fuggin brutal. We got jipped big time there.

Yes.

They just lost too much to be that high again. As the poster below you said, I guess they're just giving them the benefit of the doubt since they won the Super Bowl (even though it took a miracle for them to get there).

No, you're not crazy, I absolutely believe the same thing.

If there was a darkhorse for me to pick to go to the Super Bowl, it'd be the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Saints HAVE to start off 3-1 at the worst. I personally think they will, with a favorable first 4, but after that it gets super tough, especially the 49ers/ATL/Seahawks stretch. Week 1 might not be the be all end all, but it will really give us some perspective as to what the team will do this year.
