I would rather play real golf... Might go a few times this summer when it is too hot to play, but other than that if I have time to waste and money to spend I would rather be outside on a course.

I've been there a bunch. It's great. It's a good change of pace from playing. And the talent that goes to that place is shockingly impressive

get prepared to wait 3 hours to get a station to hit balls. ridiculously packed all the time. you have to have a really large group to reserve

My GF's company will go at like 3:30 on random days. I just can't get over there after work before they are leaving. My friend had her birthday over there and they said it was a good time. They had like 30 people with them though.

Yeah. And we got there at 5:30 on a Friday, had no wait, and stayed until until about 10. It was fun as hell

I wonder how much it cost to open one of those. There are no public driving ranges in my town but a shite ton of golfers and is an upscale town. a ton of snobs have moved there recently

Same here, might shoot 78 or might be 108 but I'm not gonna hold people up. On the way to the ball already thinking about what club I'll need (at least on a course I know), quick check of GPS when I get to the ball, pick the club, a quick "Duffner" waggle and hit.

No practice swings for me, except with the putter and my wedges. Other than that, I'm ready to go as soon as the ball from my playing partner has stopped moving.

I take a little half swing just to relax (almost like im playing a 60 yard pitch) and play the shot in my head. then its a little waggle and go

If someone would open a stand-alone range with a decent short game area, I would be all over that. They only place in denham is Greystone, and they charge $15 for a small bag of balls. And I'm not driving to BR to hit balls.

How many balls is that? You could buy used balls online cheaper, and blast them over the horizon like Ryno somewhere in the LP.

You're right though, somebody could make some easy money opening a range over there.

there are so many places that could use a cool driving range.

Abita is the only public driving range in the mandeville area and so many people around here play golf

I wonder what the ball machine runs.

I had a friend tell me about a guy in Laffy who opened a range on the side of the highway near Rayne.

He shows up in the morning a couple times a weeks to cut and in the afternoons to pick up balls and take the cash out of the machine.

and you just buy a ball picker from a club when they decide to buy a new one

I just found one for $5K that takes cash or credit cards. Brand new.

I could pay someone to come cut at first, when I find the right piece of property, and use my 4 wheeler with a ball picker.

I kinda like the range at North Park. The grass and balls are in decent shape and its really cheap

It does suck that there's no short game area but having to own green equipment puts that out of reach for just about any driving range
