Pretty smart play by him on Sunday

Looking at those scores, I'd guess they have some sort of rule about not improving by more than 10 shots on day 2? Seems like a lot of the winners were 9 shots better on day 2.

Why don't they flight it by handicap on day 1?

yes, the rule is that they can't improve by more than 9 strokes or they get bumped up in flights....all players that have played previously should be flighted based on previous years results...

Not all of these players probably keep an official handicap

Not to mention sandbaggers know how to fix a handicap just as easy

And yes, there was a 10-shot rule in effect

That's one possibility, although that wouldn't take into account some people who improve a lot in a year. It just seems like if you want to play in something like this, you should have to turn in a certified handicap. They're easy to get online; you don't even need to be a member anywhere. It wouldn't eliminate sandbagging, but it would be better than this.

Also, what if someone really does have a shitty day on the 1st day? It's not inconceivable for a 4 or 5 handicap to play shitty, shoot 85, then come back on day 2 and shoot 75.

This probably happens more than the sandbagging

frick up day 1 and you just come out real loose on day 2 and play much better

Mytigger did it last year and I know he wasn't sandbagging

He improved like 12 shots and jumped into my flight and stole my 5th place finish

a-hole

Whoa...maybe I'm being extremely German with this, but Beaverpro said that was VegasPro in the 3rd flight yesterday. So, VP=ZD? Would make an awful lot of sense.
