If we drafted Len at #6 when we were one pick away from Drummond last year. That scenario could set us back 5 years/blow our chance of keeping AD

this is how I look at it
C - need upgrade
PF - set
SF - definitely need upgrade
SG - questionable
PG - questionable
sg and pg depend on whether EG and AR pan out. whether or not they will is unknown at this point but there are 2 positions where we are definitely not set C and SF and I think SF is a lot stronger in next year's draft and FA class. the way I look at it you go with a definite need unless something crazy happens like mclemore falling to us. for me that need would be C and I'd take alex len. just my take on it

get trey burke, use rivers in the way that the spurs use ginobli, trade for mavs pick and draft someone that can hopefully help the team, sign igoudola and that equals playoffs next year. Also, last time i checked, the pelicans only worked out Michael carter williams and burke so it would be stupid to draft someone you didnt workout

We would be in such a better position had the Pistons, for whatever reason, passed on Drummond at 9. We would have a young an athletic frontcourt locked in for the next 7 years. We would know for sure that we needed to draft a 2/3 scorer this year.
Instead, right now we just went through a year of having AD playing out of position and getting abused physically after his first year and we still have no idea what Rivers will amount to in terms of position AND production. To make matters worse, we have still have to likely gamble on a big at some point, be it in the draft or overpay for a decent one in the draft.

??he played pf....his true spot. only played the 5 situationally.
