Best result possible. We lost out of the FA and get to focus on the Prem. All the while being able to say we easily deserved a draw and arguably a win. Couldn't have asked for a better situation

upvote and agree.

Let Arsenal play extra games. Let Everton play extra games.

I want our guys rested and hungry for the Premiere League games.

A max of two extra games during the season. You realize that's what you're talking about?

The final is the week after the PL season is over.

Trust me, I would prefer to still be in it... however, that is the silver lining...

it's a dog fight.. every little advantage helps..

Two extra games where we could get injured. I would literally take a guaranteed 3 points next week over making it to the final in the FA Cup. 6 guaranteed over winning it. We need to maximize every single percentage point we can of finishing top four.

In an imaginary world. My point was, that's how much more I care about the league. If I could be guaranteed 6 points I'd pass up the silverware.

Yea, always sucks to get knocked out of a tournament. Earlier in the season I said the cups were a priority, but I never would have imagined we'd be so close to the top in mid-February. So there definitely is a silver lining to getting knocked out considering the circumstances, though winning silverware is always awesome.

I don't usually post on here, but I like to see the thread on the first page. I figured I would do my part to keep it there.

Given our current league form, does Lucas become a defensive sub when we're up, once he comes back?

I don't see much point in messing with Gerrard and Hendo, and with Cous doing pretty well on both ends, I don't want to move him either.

I would think so. He provides some defensive cover when we're leading. We could start him against the weaker sides (I know, oxymoron, but really), when Gerrard needs a break. Let's not forget Stevie G is old and, dare I say it, quite brittle.

How Liverpool would have fared in CLSo I don't 100% agree, but watching some of the matches, I couldn't help but think "what if?"

I know we still have a ways to go to qualify, but it seems like the way our side is playing right now could really translate well to European football and cause some fits for other teams.

One thing that I do agree with the writer is that this club needs CL football. We've done well so many times in the history, and I'm ready for those times to return. Here's to a strong finish to the year and some big games next year

We need a lot more depth for CL. If we make it next year, we'll need about 7 or 8 more guys, imo. All capable of starting some games in the PL or at the very least, in Cap and FA Cups.
