You really think only another year or so for Stevie G at his current level?

I think 2-3 if he can avoid any major injury... I really hope he retires from international duty after 2014 WC.

Jordon Ibe has scored on his debut for England U19s against Estonia.

The Ozil signing has them pumped

I'd be pumped too. Going forward in attack, he's pretty awesome. Here's to hoping our improved defense will be enough to handle all the improved sides we will be competing with for a top 4 spot.

Could y'all imagine if we would have gotten Henrikh Mkhitaryan ...

His First Goal

His Second

Damn this guy is good!!!

His time at Dortmund

Brendan was spot on with this guy. It's too bad we didn't have CL so we would have had a legitimate shot at signing him. He has been great so far for BVB.

No I said at least another year. We have to see how this and next season goes.

People forget Carragher was essentially a full-time starter in 10/11. Two seasons later he retired.

yeah, I think Stevie may be able to play into his late 30s, but it would depend on if he would be able to accommodate a lesser role...

With Carra, I dont think he wanted to ride the pine and you generally dont frick with a solid partnership in the back or substitute CBs during games... with CMs there is a lot more flexibility tactically.

But, there will come a time soon where Stevie cant play every single minute of every single league game anymore... however, since his operation on his groin, he's been reborn, not to mention playing a deeper role...

Will be a sad day when he hangs up his boots!

Carra retired, but he was a starter for the entire second half of last year. Clearly he was not what he once was, but was still a good option.

He retired for his own reasons, not because he wasn't good enough to play anymore (cough cough, Giggs/Scholes/insert Man U septegenerian here)

My basic point was how quickly a player can go from starting week in and week out to retiring, for whatever reason.

Carragher hasn't really had any physical injuries the past couple years. Maybe a couple knocks, but nothing big.

I think Gerrard will be a starter for one more year. Possibly more AKA Pirlo but it will be tough.

Carra

He said he knew we were going to buy 1st team CBs this summer, and he had no desire to be relegated back to a squad player...

I'm not sure how Stevie feels about that (again, much different with MFers) obviously he's looking to his future with the quotes today about starting to get his coaching badges...

There is def too long... Did you hear the ManUre supporters bitching about starting Giggs over the weekend? I hope we arent saying the same about Stevie in a couple years... Gotta know when to walk away.

Yea Giggs is beginning to wear out his welcome. No longer is he a servant to the club, rather the club is not a servant to him.

I don't think I'll ever understand Giggs and Young, among others, being ahead of Kagawa. There is no explanation that will make sense to me.

Still too early to tell but he might turn out to be one of those managers who is better at getting the most out of an average squad rather than managing superstars

frick him. He had the opportunity to come in at the ground level of a project at a club that looks incredibly promising. Listening to Sakho's interview on LFCtv, he said he realized there was something special being built at Liverpool and he wanted to be a part of it. PSG were in CL and Sakho could've held out for a club playing in Europe, but chose to come be a part of the rejuvenation at Anfield. If HM felt he was too good to join us where we are now then he can forever be the enemy. He certainly would've improved our squad, but he chose not to be a part of what we're doing. He will forever be the enemy in my mind. DIAF Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

while I'm not a fan of his by any stretch, I can't blame him for joining Dortmund. That offense is geared for someone like him.

Would have loved to see him in red though.

You need to sack up. If Sakho was offered a guaranteed starting spot at Dortmund, he'd be there too.

I don't see how you blame Mkhitaryan. Any young attacking mid who doesn't want to play for Klopp is a moron.

I don't know what "sack up" means. I support one club and that is my only interest. He had an opportunity to join LFC and be part of something special. We'll surpass Dortmund in the not too distant future and he'll be stuck at a club that can't afford to replace the superstars they're losing. But hey, at least he can say he played for Klopp.

It means you sound like a baby. He made the best move for his career. I don't think you have any idea how big Dortmund is or how dumb you're sounding.

I think joining a club with two bundesliga titles and a champions league final in the last 3 years is joining something special.
