Having internet trouble at home, so sorry for not being able to do a detailed search...
Anyone have any specific recipe or suggestions as to what to add to the pot? Want to throw a shoulder in the crock pot this weekend to make pulled pork sammiches. Don't have a smoker. TIA.

But seriously if you want to basically put no effort into pulled pork and have it turn out ok google ginger ale pulled pork. I did the first recipe on food.com. I did it for Memorial Day because I was drankin. Served on hawaiian sweet rolls. It was fine.

That sounds tasty. And easy.

I'm kinda curious which I would enjoy more, using ginger ale or root beer.

I went with the Ginger Ale pulled pork (used a 4.5 lb butt) and it came out delicious, thanks for the rec!

Next time I'm going to try the Mexican Pulled Pork (barbacoa style), sounds awesome.

It seems this topic has come up a lot recently. Don't know if its trolling or I'm just noticing them more.

Ain't much to it. Rub the pork the night before. Throw in crock pot on low for 10 hours. Pull. Eat. You don't have to worry about adding any liquid if you don't want to.

My fav is can of mushroom soup, dry onion soup mix, and water.

It makes a great pork taste, and you can use the stuff in the pot as a stew base. Just add some potatoes, carrots, celery, some of the pork and you can make that pork shoulder last forever!

I put a pork roast in the crockpot with just a little red wine to cover the bottom.

It came out fall apart and tasty but pretty dry. I guess I let it cook for too long.

Mixed it with a bunch of BBQ sauce and had sammiches.

I wound up going with Abita root beer with [link=(www.rachaelrayshow.com/food/recipes/laurens-pulled-pork/)]this [/link] recipe.

I didn't want to put the bbq sauce on it, because it tasted so good. Thinking next time I'm going to do the same thing but not bbq and make it into a stew or something over rice maybe. I like cooking things that I can freeze serve over rice or noodles later for lunch during the week.

It was just something simple, I've never cooked pulled pork before. But I will definitely do this again soon.
