Dawson is more of a league cup/Europa kinda guy but he has done pretty well this year. If Kaboul was healthy Dawson wouldn't be starting.

Defoe proved why he should be starting in Europa not in PL games. He can score goals in buckets when he has time against crap competition, but creates nothing for the team when he has pressure on him. Soldado better start against Villa.

Finally cooled off from the game... Why can't we score?

Someone on reddit made a good point that west ham plugged up the middle and didn't give Eriksen any time on the ball to find other players. With naughton and Siggy on the left we lost that whole side of the field which made it even easier for them to cover any gaps in the middle. Paulinho was pushed way up which just jumbled things more and made counters easier.

We really missed rose and walker wasn't 100% so our attacks on the outsides were limited. We had some good balls in, but Defoe isn't the best at getting open and making smart runs in the box. Soldado should start against villa in a couple of weeks and hopefully will start getting on the end of them.

It sucks we lost to a lower level team, but this team is still getting used to each other. They'll be okay

Walker not being 100% was the biggest problem IMO... I always say that Defoe is the man when he is scoring goals, but is frustrating to watch when he isn't. Sure the plugged the middle by dropping 10-11 behind the ball at times, but there is no excuse not to score, at home, against a team like West Ham. That being said, our first 2 games last year cost us CL, and this one could come back to bite use.

Definitely not an excuse. We have enough skill players that they should be creating a lot more chances. We're seeing the same problems from last year when we get to the final third. It seems like everything slows down and then they just knock the ball around the top of the 18 and nothing comes of it. I still have faith AVB will get it fixed. Aston villa will be a good test.

Defoe is a beast when he's on. But we're playing with 10 men when he's not. I'm actually excited for Ade to come back. Hopefully he can get his form back from the end of last year.

There was a thread on r/coys that got me slightly optimistic about Ade this year. Time will tell.

Also, my Lamela shirt came in. The third kit is so sick.

Haha I swear everybody hates Ade, and maybe I just have a soft spot for daddy long legged guys from Togo, but when he's playing like he did against Chelsea last year he's hard to stop. He's the perfect holdup player for guys like Eriksen to work off of.

He won't be back in form for a while though he just started training with the first team again.

Classy. I love the 3rd kits I wish they would have released them earlier I might have gone with that instead of white.

I just wore my jersey to a restaurant. Waiter was a Chelsea fan. He gave me free dessert for following the BPL.

Stole this from r/coys on Reddit. Think he would be a nice addition for the 2nd half of the season but we'll see what clubs we're bidding against

Spurs looking at Keisuke Honda

quote:

Honda currently scoops around £70,000-a-week at CSKA, but Spurs, who are boosted by not having to pay a transfer fee, are ready to offer big wages to get the deal done.

If the transfer goes through, it would be a notable coup for Villas-Boas who has made adding to his forward options a key priority for the new year.
