Fair enough. But, I'll take those ole bell pepper heads floating over the dekes than a teal any day.

I will not teal hunt before I go out there. I got a few spots on the delta this year, I might go for 6

Oh I have to agree that greenies are more fun to kill and much prettier to hoist. No arguments on that one here.

I don't get the mallard being more exciting than teal. Nothing is faster or more difficult in waterfowl

I'll have to do a blast and cast on Venice again. When it has feed the teal hunting is sick.

On side note, why does adding 2 birds make it a worthwhile endeavor now? Still hot and bugs are bad.

Teal hunts are quick and often over in minutes. Teal will lite in a rice fiel with so little water the clods are sticking up. Usually if you have water for teal season you have teal.

Mallards need to be worked more. There are some spots where they'll come with little to no calling but in general. Also, more mallards are banded and they're a prettier duck imo and in the opnion of many.

I'm probably just gonna become a year round fisherman, I have no where to hunt this year.

Was already worthwhile so now it's even MORE worthwhile.

On the hot and bugs, teal hunts are usually over soon after the sun comes up, if not before.

Ok. So they are more difficult to cup in and are prettier (subjective). But teal buzzing around in groups of 20 can't be beat in terms of blowing your wad

Really?

Eta: the first shot on teal is critical. One good shot on teal and every single one flares straight up. And I'm not talking about killing the first one. Knowing when to shoot, after that its easy.
