In my opinion. Chris Smalling has been massive this season. He occasionally has issues with his first touch but is a beast aerially and an extremely tenacious defender. People over love the guy.

What I gathered from my past two days here is frick Ashley Young and we need a new left back along with a quality midfielder. Darren fletcher rally struggled with his decision making yesterday. So basically everything we already knew.

He's not the long term answer as a starter, in my opinion...and I bet people over there love him so much because he's English.

Sounds about right.

Smalling is a good ball winner and all-around defender. The fact that he can play right back when needed (although some would dispute how well) shows his athletic ability for a center back. He needs to work on his distribution though.

What's the confidence rating on getting 3 points at Arsenal today: 0-10?

I'm going 6.

Old and unmotivated is a bad combination. Evra doesnt even track his mark through the box (off the ball). He just says frick it and lets them crash in or roam unmarked.

RVP's not-so-subtle tactical dig in comments made after the Olympiakos game:

"My teammates are sometimes occupying the spaces I want to play in," he said. "And when I see that it makes it difficult for me to come to those spaces as well. So that forces me to adjust my runs, based on the position of my fellow players. And unfortunately, they're often playing in my zones. I think that's a shame."

Reporter's a hammerhead. It's being reported that RVP said in an interview with The Sun, "we are lousy." Some members of press making a big deal out of that. I have no issues. Seems pretty honest to me

So I didn't get to watch the game until late last night but damn. We played well and Olympiakos is a pretty damn good team. Better than I thought they were prior to this round for sure. De Gea really saved our asses and is, in my opinion, the best keeper in the league at this point.

Good to see RvP score. Rooney balled. Giggs balled (he doesn't play often but is STILL so damn good). Valencia playing with one eyeball. THE frickING CROWD WAS RIDICULOUS. Excellent result. It'll be interesting to see who we draw
