How about this. If you're worried about it not looking like legit baseball, then move the fences in a little and make the move to the same balls as the bigs and wooden bats. College baseball has reached the point where the "wooden bats are too expensive" argument no longer works.

This is a Minor League park. The NCAA can't move the walls in because its too big for college. And yes, wooden bats are too expensive. Schools like LSU could handle if fine. But smaller schools like USL couldn't. They either need to go back to the old bats or change the ball. Though honestly I'm not sure much I believe the new ball will change things.

And there it is. We can compare baseball to soccer.
Time to just start calling runs goals and be done with it.

What a THRILLER!!! 0-0, 8 fans died.

The bats were supposed to stop the end cap home runs. You're not supposed to be able to throw chest high fastballs all day and get away with it. Neutered the game.

I can't wait until 2014 to see a Tiger cross home plate and cover his head with his jersey. Maybe he can go dance in the on deck circle.

ESPN just showed the Yankees game highlights and there was a nice mix of HRs, singles, etc. 6-4 game. That's baseball.

But how many sac bunts were there? How many unearned runs led to the game winning runs? How many times did Joe Girardi signal for the hit and run?

What an exciting game...

On the bright side, that game was perfect for me to dictate a report during it. No chance of any significant distractions.

Not sure, those were too boring to make the highlights.

Fast forward to Jarret DeHart hitting his first HR as a Tiger next year. The unwritten rules of baseball will have to be revisited.

It isn't even close to that point yet, imo. There are over 200 Division I baseball teams, and some of the major conferences haven't even fully embraced and invested in the sport yet.

I've heard some talk (nothing serious yet) of the possibility of MLB supplying them or at least picking up some of the cost. Helps MLB by giving them a better gauge of how the hitters (and pitchers) will fare and could help college baseball farther along in developing players for them. The Cape Cod and other Summer leagues use wood bats, and they aren't exactly major money makers. Corporate sponsorship between the NCAA and Louisville Slugger or other manufacturers who could provide bats is also an extremely viable option.

Indiana average 9.6 runs a game, beat Florida State by crushing the ball all over the park, and they just got complete game shut out by Oregon State's number 3 pitcher.

Actually, Matt Boyd is our Ace. Normally our Friday starter. Casey Changed it up because he thought "zit boy" as you call him here was a better matchup against MSU. Then used Boyd out of the bull pen. He Is an all American Pitcher.

15 years from now Joe Blow from North Dakota State hits a HR at TD Ameritrade, zero fricks given because no one is there.
