Just moved to Baton Rouge for the summer and was wondering where, if anywhere, I could consistantly find some pick up games?

I try to play every Sunday on the fields at Burbank. Me and my buddies see people out there everytime we go, 3-5pmish. I've even went play pickup games on weeknights out there. Lots and lots of messicans

Do they still have pick up games on the weekends on the Parade Grounds? Students from all the over the world used to play.

I've driven by the parade grounds semi-frequently because I've heard during the semester people play out there but Haven't seen anyone playing. Haven't really looked on the weekends though

Yea I think people usually roll out some small goals and play on the parade grounds.

Not sure, I've never looked for it out there.
As for playing at Burbank, there's people out there pretty much every evening, Sundays are when it's most packed and you can play 2-3 hours of 11v11 games.. Good stuff

I'd say a little later than that because its alot cooler outside around 4:30-5 than earlier in the day, and you still have ample sunlight

There's an LSU pick up FB page where people get things together. Usually around 3-5 on the parade grounds or at the rec center

During the week there's usually some people at the rec or Burbank but Saturday and Sunday around 4-430 you will always find people playing at Burbank they have a couple Facebook groups so when you do find a game ask them about it

Only play against MLSter if you are okay with getting "MLSted'...ie, meg'd/embarrassed/etc.
Also, look out for a Mexican dude who goes by Messi (seriously). He typically wears a Sherwin Williams shirt and is a ballhog.

I avoid playing with hispanics for this very reason. They are terrible teammates.
Iraqis, too. I might even go as far as saying that they were worse.
