For those who think Les should be fired

Do you think Coach Mainieri should be fired as well? They have had similar results and situations.
Just want to know the depths of your delusions.

Neither should be fired. They are both damn good coaches.

Apparently more than a small portion of our fan base

And for those that want CPM fired, it could be worse. We could of hired Bianco.

neither should be fired, but a little criticism thrown their way should not be blasted upon.
Just because they are being criticized doesn't mean people want them fired.
One thing is for sure, they had similar problems this year...offense stunk it up when it was clutch time.

How am I butt hurt? I am defending both coaches

They are both nice guys and very capable coaches. I think any program should be happy to have both guys.
But I think they both lack something, and I can't put it into words, maybe a killer instinct, or unquenchable desire to win championships.
I think our football and baseball teams will always have great regular seasons, and then in the postseason where talent is so equal and the smallest coaching differences mean so much, we will be defeated the majority of the time. Not to say we will never win another NC with either coach, but I think each of them has access to more talent than most, but they usually get exposed when they are up against equal talent.
An example from football would be the 2011 National Title game, and an example from baseball would be this years CWS.
I'm not saying these coaches are happy getting so close but not winning it all, but it seems like both squads can cruise through the regular season (which is easier as a whole) and then usually struggle in postseason against equal talent on the field and matching wits against opposing coaches.

No one in their right mind and properly informed would fire either of those guys. They are doing a pretty decent job and they are both keeping their respective programs in contention. They have both won national titles. Thank God, the NCAA can't frick with the actual football like they do baseballs and bats. When it comes to baseball, my beef is moreso with them.
I might add, Johnny Jones has been a pleasant surprise. I really didn't think he was up to the job back when the hire was being made. But in watching things, he just may bring the basketball program back. Time will tell. However, it would appear that I was in error about my assumptions, and I have no problem admitting that. If progress continues, there will be three major men's programs back in the limelight before long. Doesn't mean that they don't deserve some criticism when they frick up, but that doesn't equate with needing to fire them.

Neither one will be fired anytime soon, but if I had to pick one to get fired first or who I'd rather see get fired first I would go with CPM
Posted on 6/19/13 at 12:31 pm to Big Lake
Why does someone always have to get fired around here?
Posted on 6/19/13 at 12:34 pm to slinger1317
It's funny all the Les haters always act like we are the only team with top talent

What players are out of our league for either sport? We have some of the best recruiting tools/recruiters for either sport in all of the country.

In baseball it isn't SEC titles, tourney titles, or lack of NC.
In football it isn't west titles, SEC titles, BCS bowl games, BCSCG's, or BCS title.
So, what do you see these two coaches missing?
Posted on 6/19/13 at 12:40 pm to ezride25
No one needs to get the hook. People get fired up because they want to see a coach get pissed off when players don't perform or not get beat the same way every time they lose. As for CPM, guys stopped hitting especially with RISP. He can't fix that mid game.

Perhaps some question whether they possess the capability of winning another championship? I definitely feel like we're do for another in either sport over the next 3-5 years
Posted on 6/19/13 at 12:44 pm to slinger1317
No one is out of our league but their are a lot of teams with just as much if not more talent than us.
