Plus......Billy cannon won a heisman.
Shaquille oneal and jacob Hester played ball at LSU.

Unfortunately, this is a what have you done for me lately business and lately we've lost two in a row to Alabama in football (not mention how we lost) and got swept in cws with winningest team in lsu baseball history.

The enthusiasm will return, but as of June 19th I'm not feeling it.

It's like I posted yesterday in the immediate fallout, we don't have bad fans necessarily, but we do have spoiled fans. Thanks for pointing out just how good we've got it.

UPDATED - What a great time to be a Tiger fan!

I was just thinking (and this may be just my weird perspective) that eight teams made it to the CWS. That means 8 survived a long season of baseball, then Regionals, then Super-regionals, and then made it to the CWS. If we could make a tree (or hierarchy) of all the Division 1 teams and put that in perspective, that means that these 8 teams beat a multitude of the wannabees. Although LSU went 57-11 in actual games, they also sort of got credit for the hundreds of other games in the tree beneath them. Funny thing, LSU also beat Mississippi State 2x, and MSU is still in it. I'd say LSU has done good to be where it is now. Sorry, but this is the Rant and I can think weird like a lot of others...

Oh, BTW, I think we have a great array of coaches.

LSU has also been to more CWS in the last 27 years (16) than any other team.

And how'd you like to be Florida State? 21 CWS appearances - ZERO national championships....

I was once on a ListServe about LSU Sports with a guy who called himself "Cool Papa Beau." He had nicknames for many of the college teams, and FSU was no exception. One of the names that circulated for FSU was "Free Shoes University" based on the donation of a large athletic shoe company. Another I have heard over the years is "Finishes Second Usually." I do not mean to disrespect FSU, as it is the capstone of my degree field (Instructional Design), and it is a magnificent institution, but, for some reason it just can't get to the very top of the rung athletically. It is also possible that the University is a better "catapult" for life skills beyond/aside from athletics, so perhaps that in essence makes FSU outstanding on its own. One of these days or years FSU will get there--and that stigma in athletics will be gone.

I meant absolutely no disrepect to Florida State.
I was just comparing our post-2013 CWS depression to what fans of a school who has been to Omaha many times but never won it all might be going through.
I think you underestimate FSU Athletics. They've won football NCs, many football bowl games, had famous athletes, been to many CWS, and even been to Final Fours in basketball...

Win, lose or draw - It's always great to be a Tiger fan.

Most of the shite talkers on this board have never even stepped foot in an LSU classroom.

I didn't take it that way--I, too, highly respect FSU--the school has plusses in many categories other than, and including, athletics. A college education should be balanced, not overly concerned with how good an athletic program is. No one should turn down the opportunity to go to a college or university that can give him/her the quality of education FSU does. The same goes for the other Florida schools. Personally, I would go to school there and get another degree if I could, but I don't need another one.

While i thibk the team did great and is most likely better than miss st since we beat them twice, im not buying the not ready for the cws stage. We play in one of the best parks in the country in front of record crowds. They should have been ready and the coaches failed miserably to make adjustments to the park we were playing in.
