Honestly I love the new bats but I think this field at Omaha the fences should be brought in to where balls on warning track are gone. This guy for NC state just crushed the ball and wasn't rewarded at all.

Pitcher makes a big mistake and the hitter is severely penalized in this park. This is total crap what they have done to
CWS.

yep. Even Kyle Petersen pointed this out. You know if he said something should be done about it then something is wrong

There's a nice medium there somewhere between the old bats and the new bats

that field plus the bats have killed the excitement in the cws. now you have the most boring team in the tournament batting .250 with a good defense, average pitching (average because in any other ballpark they would have lost both games) and they will probably win this thing.

It's not the deminsions, it's that the ball does not travel in that park. The CWS has been there for 3 years, and today was the first home run in that park that was not down the line. A UNC player actually reached the stands near the 375 sign.

3 years!

I do love the new bats for me it makes the game much more interesting. But if u knock the shite out of it should get a home run. I don't think it needs to be close to the old bats cause was becoming a juice monkey game and you could make 5 errors and it didn't matter but every ball that's on warning track here should be a homerun. Maybe use a tighter baseball such as the ones used in the minors and majors or maybe lessen the bbcor rules a small amount. I wouldn't want anything at all like the old bats as a matter of fact I prefer the product we have now but still see improvements coming after this year. And the really funny thing is they have high school kids hitting with these bats also

As much as I would hate it, I almost hope UCLA wins it all. Would be poetic justice. TD Ameri-whateva can kiss my arse. Most beautiful, well groomed, field of dreams palace....where great baseball teams go to f'n die. CWS will never be the same without changes. Bring us your average hitters, your bunting skills, your pop fly ball catching outfield and your unearned runs and we shall deliver you a Champion

Just from watching most of the games ,from what I have seen there have been at least 15 balls that should have been home runs

I coach baseball and have honestly wondered if we may not be better off using wood bats not sure honestly. And the funnier part of the matter to me is that the bats are still 3-400 dollars a piece even though doesn't have near the pop and they don't last nearly as long. Easton, demarini, mariuccu, and all other bat companies defiantly are not complaining.

dimensions are the same as Rosenblatt, home plate just faces a different direction to where the wind blows in rather then out, and the stadium isn't on a hill as Rosenblatt where the wind had more effect.

ETA: Rosenblatt's power alleys were 360 and lines were 332 prior to 2002 when they increased them to 335, and 375.

Instead of popping the ball up high enough to hit a home run hitters should be trying to hit low line drives. That's the adjustment that needs to be made.

Problem with wood bats is the cost. They break and end up costing lots more than the current metal bats. Supposedly MLB was interested in sponsoring NCAA baseball to help cover the costs of wood but it hasn't happened yet.

Something's got to give. No drama when a kid with 15 HR's steps up to the plate late in the game and there's little or no chance he can hit one out.
