2011 LSU Football vs. 2013 LSU Baseball - The Seasons Compared

The two seasons are absolute mirror images of one another. Yes...I know we didn't "beat UCLA/UNC in the regular season and then lose to them in Omaha" (cough cough Gumps) but both these seasons are mirror images of one another.
1. Both teams played a really tough schedule in the best conference in the country for their respective sport
2. Both teams won their conference championship
3. Both had the best year in LSU's history for the respective sport
4. Both waited until the end, when it counted most, to produce their worst performance of the respective season
Sure 1/9 hurt more than today, but I don't care what anyone says...these two seasons were a bitter mirror of one another. Absolutely unbelievable yet a complete disappointment in the end.

I think 2011 was more butt hurt - but finishing this season on a two game loosing streak and the way it ended burns. IMO 2011 absolutely still hurts

How bout a comparison of Miles and Manieris careers at LSU. Both climb to the top early in career. Both hit slumps after. Both rebuild with what some say are best teams in 2011 and 2013. Both underachieve based on expectations and production to that point at the end of each of their respective seasons. Not exactly alike but the similarities are worth noting. Guess we will see how each go forward.
