MSU doesn't do it, Indiana doesn't do it, NC St doesn't do it, UNC doesn't do it, USCe when they won twice didn't do it... The only answer is to not have your 3, 5, and 6 hitters not go 0-24. Certainly we could benefit from actually stealing bases and learning to bunt without getting thrown out at second, but the park has nothing to do with that. Other teams win without small ball, and the only reason it works for UCLA is because they cant hit anyway so they dont mind giving up the possibility of a multiple run inning. Unless the middle of your lineup hits like they have hit all year, you will never win the CWS.... Oh and ready for football

Better defense would have won the first game. UNC is just tough.

LSU's problem? They can't do it when they have to do it.

Small ball may not be the answer, but it's a temporary fix when the bats aren't booming.

Swinging at crap isn't the answer either.

He's not even a true LSU fan. He was all over UF at the beginning of the year

It's not one or the other. A combination of situational bunting and timely hitting. Of course we should've bunted in a few situations.

Well when your not hitting you need to figure a way to move runners and playing small ball is one of them. I agree its not the way to win but you have to coach your way to a win sometimes and not just rely on a player breaking out of a funk. Sometimes if a player is in a funk and say he steals a base or bunts someone over it can be a confidence builder in them actually doing something positive. confidence carries over sometimes you gotta jump start it with small things

I know... "geauxpack"... what a dunce! Unbelievable!!

Small ball is statistically the wrong way to go, though. And even though that conclusion is based off of the MLB, the inferiority of bats and balls is not enough of a discrepancy to override it. I agree with Roger that it's a situational thing for close games.

The issue is we never change anything after the game starts. If we swing for the fences in the first, we're swinging for the fences in the 8th, even if it's a 1 run game and the leadoff hitter is on 1st base. We seem to have very little situational coaching happening, whether it's knowing when to bunt a runner to 2nd or not hit and running with a batter with a green light and a propensity for hitting into double plays.

Oh, and fire Javi. Seriously. Or if he's not fired, he can be bat boy as we bring in someone that will actually coach our guys on how to hit vs pitchers worth a damn.

you should be banned for trolling IMO. Especially in in-game threads.
