Anyone know what this guys deal was? I didn't like the way he was handling the game. You don't want the ump to be noticed that's the mark of a good ump. This guy acted like he was god's gift to umpires. He really had something against ross.

I noticed that too. And he did it to both teams. He seemed to think he was the best ump that ever walked the Earth.

I rarely have issues with umpires and refs in sports, but this guy had a stick up his arse the entire game. And it wasnt just to LSU. His strike zone was inconsistent for both teams and the way he would talk to the catchers and players acting like he was the biggest star on the field was annoying. I like that Ross was actually talking back to him and was getting pissed

He missed some calls both ways throughout the game, but his first pitch strike calls greatly helped the UNC pitchers.

I couldn't hear what he was saying to Ross - what exactly was he bitching about?

Said something about ross showing him up. Also told ross tell your pitcher to focus on throwing strikes and not me.

I forget what he said to Ross. I just remember him saying,"I'm just saying. I'm just saying...." And Ross said something back to him.

He told a UNC player that if he intentionally stuck his arm out and got hit, that he wouldn't award him first base.

I can hardly fault him for that but he seemed to think he was better than every other person on the field.

The sound was going in and out. But, when he went to "clean homeplate" he basically told Ross to shut up and stop talking about where he was calling the strikes and that he was giving Ross a lot of leeway early on but was getting sick of it now. Ross was responding with what am i supposed to do then? Where do you want me to set up? And all that.

Point being, that Ump was very inconsistent for both teams and acting like he was the star of the game and it got old fast.

He had an ego which is the worst thing an ump can have. He was a bitch.

He called a pretty good game but he gave UNC a strike 3 call 8 inches off the plate then squeezed Cotton all in the 7th.

The guy that hit the homerun would have been called out on that pitch on the corner by 9/10 college umpires as would the one that scored the last run.

I agree... He didn't change the outcome of the game but I hope he never comes back to Omaha

The ump gave the UNC pitcher a high strike call the first pitch of Ross' at bat in the 8th. The ump made that call to stick it to Ross. His ego was out of control.

Yeah he didn't cost lsu the game but he greatly changed our approach. A lot of north carolina first pitch strikes weren't even near the zone. Look at moore's at bat. 2 runners on First pitch change up low out the zone about 6 inches off the plate gets called strike one. Pitcher hits same spot next two pitches and moore is forced to go after them because of the first call. North carolina pitchers had that security blanket the whole game.

word. and that kind of shite messes up the at bat and basically tells our hitters we have to swing at balls outside of the zone.

we got no breaks today except for the groundball hitting the ump
