Israel, has a nuclear policy of deliberate ambiguity.

Apples and oranges. Israel is surrounded by neighbors who do not recognize her right to exist. Iran? Not so much.

Budget Cuts are coming for our own Defense spending but not for our best buddies. Fresh off the press.

Here is an area we can agree on. Reduce our own defense spending. End all foreign aid.

Iran instead has a regional enemy with nuclear weapons. They also have a superpower that has steadily been invading their region.

Can you really blame them for wanting nukes?

No, I cannot.

But their "friendly" neighbors are nervous about their nuclear ambitions as well. And Israel has not stated they want to annihilate Iran.

My philosophy?

Don't start nuthin' and won't be nuthin'.

They might not have said it but their feelings about annihilation of the other side are mutual.

Don't disagree. But "defense" is their stated policy.

How is that related to backing an ally?

How did that enemy become an enemy? It couldn't have been due to Iranian support for organizations that have vowed to eliminate Israel could it? Just what delivery systems does Israel have that threaten Iran? Israel is not developing intermediate range ballistic missiles, but Iran is. Why?

Maybe because Israel ALREADY has developed nuclear capable missiles. SOURCE
They also have several dolphin-class submarines with nuclear missiles, fighter jets/refueling planes capable of reaching Iran...

Shiite Iran would have more to fear from Sunni Pakistan than Israel if Iran hadn't gone out of its way to support Hezbollah and Hamas.

Don't violate a treaty/ceasefire and you don't get invaded. Saddam played himself and his nation into that little hole in the ground.
