Shaq. He's about LSU inside and out and has achieved much more than being a basketball player.

David toms has done a lot of charitable stuff and has been a consistent money winner in the PGA.
Never fails to mention LSU.
Bob Petit was 4 x NBA MVP, but is frequently mentioned as being a racist toward black players.

Shaq's good.

My personal fav might be Kevin Faulk. Resurrected LSU football and is all class.

how 'bout Dalton? seems like I heard he had his own company and was doing well with that, too. could be wrong, though. very proud of him AT LEAST for his professional and character!!

I would agree with those three and add David Toms as a fourth.

Shaq should be at the top of everyone's list imo. By far the most prominent former Tiger. And mostly for good reasons. A once in a generation player and as far as I know he has never been an embarrassment to the university. The fact that he stays visible on campus even though he left over 20 years ago is a huge boost in my eyes as is the fact he also earned his PhD even though everyone knows he didn't need to financially. It was a personal goal and as a competitor he felt the need to accomplish it.

After all the anti Muslim bigotry in the Chris Jackson/ Rauf thread, I wondered how many posters would embrace Shaq for his broader accomplishments.
