RT @AdamSchefter: It’s “not realistic” to expect Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski to be ready to play regular-season opener at Buffalo, per source

Xrays negative; calling it a mid foot sprain on ESPN. Mid, not mild.

Week 3 baby!!!

Still on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list that would keep him out of regular season action until at least Week 7, Gronkowski could be off the list soon to free him up for a possible return in Week 3.

While the return date may sound ambitious for a player that underwent forearm and back surgeries in May and June, respectively, the Patriots have actually been doing their best to hold Gronkowski back and allow him time to recover fully, according to Guergian.

Robert Griffin III (knee) went through an extensive pre-game workout ahead of Sunday night's preseason matchup with the Steelers.
ESPN's cameras showed Griffin making explosive movements, including full-speed dropbacks and a 50-yard dead downfield sprint, which noticeably impressed Dr. James Andrews on the Redskins' sideline. Griffin was in terrific spirits during an in-game interview, and every sign possible still points to him starting Week 1 against the Eagles. In standard, 12-team fantasy leagues, we'd consider taking the plunge on Griffin beginning in round four.

Le'Veon Bell will undergo an MRI on his right foot Tuesday.
The initial diagnosis on Bell was a mid-foot sprain. As ESPN's Adam Schefter notes, this injury sometimes turns into a Lisfranc fracture -- an injury that would cripple the second-round rookie's season. For now, all the Steelers can do is hold their breath. Bell's projected backup, Isaac Redman, produced 410 yards on 110 carries (3.72 YPC) and lost three fumbles last year.

I believe they've ruled him out for the remainder of preseason.

The amount of injuries during this preseason/training camp have been insane.

Victor Cruz (heel) is confident he'll be ready for Week 1.
Cruz is in crutches and a walking boot. "The MRI just showed some blood in there in the area where the swelling is, and that was about it," Cruz said, in what was apparently reassuring news. "No tear — nothing wrong with the bone — everything's fine, which is a good sign, which is what I was worried about." Players are always overly optimistic about return timelines, but for now Cruz should be taken at his word. Week 1 is 19 days away.

If last year is any indication, I don't think I would want either.

Dwyer had more carries last year.

Amendola missed Monday's practice. It's only worth a mention because of Amendola's injury history

i saw he got tackled and driven to the ground pretty hard on a sideline catch

Do we have any idea if or when SF is going to put Lattimore on IR? I know he's not going to play, but are they going to tag him with IR? Could use the extra bench spot.
