I haven't played any of them either, but I recently pre-ordered the legacy collection that is coming out next month. Threads like this get me excited to jump into those games.

The Legacy collection comes out next month for $50. That's pretty much all of the MG games.

Ha! Yeah, having to spin around to figure out which painting he was emerging from.

Another came to mind. Mother Brain from Super Metroid:

Ugh, this reminds me. How could I forget the final boss in Portal 2? Though in hindsight, the boss is good but it's really the ending that elevates it all.

That was a cool fight considering the way it closed out the main story of him and Solid Snake. Cycling through the music of each game was a nice touch too.

Another great aspect about the Ocelot fight on the top of Haven:

-Ocelot keeps up his "Liquid" persona up until the moment he can no longer move, finally admitting it was an act in his last words.

-The scene right before you have control of Snake is very hard to watch...basically two old men beating each other to death. The fact that Liquid Ocelot could have just left Snake there to die, but didn't feel complete without one final battle was touching as well, especially the way he brings Snake back to health

One final point about the way Kojima portrays women in his game. Look no further than Meryl: Notice how her muscle structure is portrayed. That is an EXTREMELY realistic portrayal of a women trained to function as a special operator.

I'm not certain this is my definitive answer but the new Metal Gear game got me thinking about how awesome the sniper battle with "The End" from "Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater" was.

Another point about Metal Gear boss battles - If they ever remade the original two Metal Gear games, I would be extremely excited to see and play the fight vs. Gray Fox in MG2.

It's a two stage battle where you fight him when he's inside Metal Gear first.

The second stage is a fist fight in the middle of a MINEFIELD

Even the Big Boss fight at the end of MG2 would be amazing with current technology: He's basically reconstructed and shooting at you with an AK...all you have is a cigarette lighter and an aerosol can.

If you play Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 (Metal Gear Solid is the THIRD game in the series) first, you'll notice a LOT of holes in the plot. I hope Kojima remakes those two to tie them into 3, Portable Ops, Peace Walker, and 5.

Here's the timeline again:

1964: Virtuous Mission (MGS3)

1964 (6 months later): Operation Snake Eater (MGS3)

1970: San Hieronymo Insurrection (Portable Ops)

1974: Costa Rica incident (Peace Walker)

1975: MGS 5 Prologue

1984: MGS 5

1995: Outer Heaven Uprising (Metal Gear)

1999: Zanzibar Land Incursion (Metal Gear 2)

2005: Shadow Moses Incident (Metal Gear Solid)

2007: Tanker Incident (MGS2 Prologue)

2009: Big Shell destruction, Manhattan Incident (MGS2)

2014: End of the Patriots (MGS4)

2018-2019: Metal Gear Rising
