Come on!! It's his step dad, not his mama!! But by default, his step dad could be receiving it for his mother.

Very classy person, I'm impressed, the gesture to his stepfather is heart warming. Think of the pride that old guy would have in that ring, not just the ring itself, but that his stepson loved him enough to present it to him.
Letting go bitterness after losing a job like that shows he is made of stern stuff. On the advice of a man I respected, I left every job I ever had with a smile, it paid off well. It always leaves people with the impression that maybe they shouldn't have let you leave.
I have a good feeling that the offense will be incredible this year.
