I studied German history, specifically the Third Reich and the Second World War, in college and have been collecting various pieces for a while now ranging from small arms, uniforms, documents, etc.

I've been considering getting a C&R license to make everything smoother. Just wondering if anyone here enjoys the hobby/collecting militaria and historical artifacts and if anyone has a C&R license? If so, what are your thoughts on it? Is it worth it?

Not sure that this entirely relates to this board, but the OB did seem like the most appropriate place to ask. So, thanks for any advice, tips, or even discussion anyone would like to have.

Had no idea you needed a license for that. I've gone arrowhead hunting a few times and have a metal detector but no place to find military stuff.

You don't need a license. But with a C&R license you can have certain firearms, like M1 Garands, Enfields, Mausers, etc., shipped directly to you instead of having to go through a regular FFL dealer.

I have one and it makes it much easier to buy relics b/c you cut out the middle man. Definitely worth it if you are a serious collector.
