"The Tigers had a chip on their shoulders. A chip they had been carrying since last year’s super regional when a quality but relatively unknown Stony Brook team came in and stole a berth to the College World Series from the host Tigers.

LSU wasn’t going to let that happen again. Not on their home field in front of arguably the best home crowd in college baseball. Not with arguably the best team in the nation."

and learn an overarching lesson: Unless you can compete with the SEC’s best, you’re not ready to compete in the College World Series.

LSU didn't slow the game down by taking the srs out for curtain calls.
OU slowed that inning down by getting their whole staff on the mound that inning.

Seems like they could have at least proofread it. It's not a terrible article, though.

It's not debatable.

In terms of being pro-LSU, yes. In terms of AP style (or even readability for that matter) not so much.

we're talking about the OUDaily here. i was shocked to see anyone associate "well written" with that publication.

The Tigers were not going to let anyone get in their way of punching their ticket to Omaha. Unfortunately for the Sooner state, OU had to be the team who had to be LSU’s punching bag for any aggression left over from the 2012 super regionals.

This made me laugh.

LSU scored six runs in the top of the ninth inning to win Saturday’s game, 11-1. To make matters worse for OU, that ninth inning featured multiple standing ovation stoppages to honor the Tiger seniors who had taken their last at-bats at Alex Box Stadium, which prolonged the game and allowed for that suffering to last a few minutes longer than it should have.

Leg has been swept.

OU players seemed very nice and respectable, fans not so much! Pitcher Gray's mother throwing peanuts at a young female LSU fan for standing and cheering was just really sad! Her son is legit and will do great things, he didn't get it from his mom! Really obnoxious behavior for a player's mother!
