CP3 comes back. I haven't been following the Pelicans and draft lately, been to caught up in the Finals. I've heard rumors, but assume that he's staying in LA.

It's not happening. First he has to decide to leave the Clippers and the extra year they can give his gimpy knee. Then he has to turn down more playoff ready opportunities in Houston and Atlanta. Then he has to choose the Pelicans over the Mavericks. Basically the Pelicans are Plan C or D if he decides to leave LA.

I could see him choosing LA, Houston, or Atlanta.

Dallas?

Not so much, considering that Dirk is on the downside of his career and making a shite-ton of money while they have few supporting players outside of a highly paid Marion right now.

I would say like 1%. If that.

There's a better chance that EG plays in every single game next year than there is of CP returning.

Not so much

Depends. Dallas has a small possibility of clearing enough cap space to land Dwight and CP3 which is what would give them the edge. I think CP3 stays in LA if the choice is current Dallas roster + CP3 and filler.

Can't possibly hurt.

Also, I don't see why people keep mentioning Atlanta. They're not that talented outside of the people they'd have to move to make room for him and Dwight. Without Dwight, Atl is the Clippers without the potential upside for big man improvement.

People are kidding yourselves if you think the freaking Hawks will be a player. Atl can't even support their football team that well (especially considering how good they are right now), what makes you think anyone wants to play there?

1) LAC
2) HOU
Distant 3) NOLA

Dark Horses
LAL (if they find the nuts to amnesty Kobe)
MIA (if someone is dumb enough to take Bosh off their hands)

The Lake Show COULD get Paul, but they would have to amnesty Kobe and likely offload a few pieces, like Nash, for nothing in return.

If Miami can do it, I'm not sure how. They are at $85m right now and would have to get their payroll down to the high 50s or low 60s to even do a sign-and-trade.

Not true at all. Atlanta can easily dump Lou Williams and Jenkins. Picking Horford or Smith/some other FA will affect how much of a paycut they take, but they can easily do a Big 3 build in Atlanta.

Big 3

Paul/Howard/Smith or Paul/Howard/Horford isn't that great of a big 3 for 1. Especially if you consider Paul/Harden/Howard and the role players on Houston. You're not getting Horford/Smith/Howard/Paul.

Also, why would Howard or Paul want to go to Atl? Howard's fricking from there and he's supposedly not even entertaining the idea. It's not a sexy city. They're kidding themselves if they think either of the 2 prima-donnas want to play/live there.

The only reason CP3 would come back was because of his emotional attachment to Monty and the city, and he has a chance to see the development of AD in person for Team USA. Only reason I give us a chance at all.

To team up together. The options for that are limited.
