I'd love to see this cross referenced with a players average positioning. We could see the numerous ways teams employ possession based strategies.

Xavi's numbers are the most impressive of the bunch, as he tends to operate further up the field in tighter spaces.

He also has the most back passes, which shows me that he is the one deciding when the attack should reset and recycle, and not Busquets, who operates as the outlet in the midfield three.

Pirlo is flanked by two midfield runners, who give him both protection defensively and outlets for the forward ball. He's also a prolific long range passer, which this data reinforces.
