New EP by a young artist

This is an EP just written and recorded by a teen whom I happen to know. Give it a shot--4 songs (two instrumentals wrapped around the centerpiece, "Run", followed by more of an electronic song) totalling 14 minutes.

you didnt do much to sell it my friend. give some feedback/review and youll be much more likely to get someone elses. noting the number of tracks and length, along with age doesnt get people interested in checking it out

OK, I'll give it a shot.
First, my background is that I've been playing music (keyboards and guitar) for a lot of years. I'm not a full time musician right now but was when I was younger.
Since you didn't give much info, I'll assume your Mr. Guein is responsible for all elements (i.e. lyrics, instruments, song writing, and vocals).
Lyrics:
The lyrics in "Run" show that the young man has talent; they're not completely developed, but he's on the right path.
As for the other 2 songs with lyrics, not so good (will discuss "Is It There" later).
Instruments:
Piano in "Run" was first class and represents the greatest degree of skill this person has as a musician; this is certainly reinforced with the piano part in "Is It There".
Guitar:
Didn't hear anything special. The 3 cord strumming in "Stretch I" was elementary and reminiscent of a first year guitar student's play. He completely missed the boat in "Run". Distortion and reverb didn't do much to cover the fact that it added nothing to the product; in fact, it took away from an otherwise excellent piano piece. A nice clean jazz run would have fit in nicely. "Stretch II" didn't do anything for me; it gave me the impression he used effects to mask a lack of ability.
Special Note: The inclusion of the electronics in the Intro of "Is It There" was annoying and makes you want to stop listening right then and there, which would deprive the listener of hearing some really nice piano play.
Song writing:
You are right; "Run" is the centerpiece. The lyrics were well thought out and flowed well.
As for "Is It There", repeating the same verse the entire time does not make a song, especially when the lyrics are so abstract. The inclusion of a chorus might of given Mr. Guerin an opportunity to give the listener a better understanding of his message.
He should really pay attention to his phrasing. I didn't care for the guitar break in "Run". The song was flowing quite well and the break served no purpose. I know "fusion" is the popular thing right now but there has to be a hook somewhere.
Vocals:
His voice is well suited for the jazz/blues genre (reminds me of Amos Lee in his blues songs).
Overall:
These songs certainly prove Eliot has a wealth of real talent and he'll only get better with time and experience.

I actually agree with pretty much everything you've said. He is a jazz pianist by training and preference, but loves styles as diverse as Pink Floyd and electronica. .
I would agree the guitar offered nothing new and was reminiscent of "Wish You Were Here" or an acoustic Zeppelin song. I assume he was just changing it up a bit, but the piano is the real highlight.
