GOT Question About Catelyn Stark---Finished Book Readers Only SPOILERS

I read the books a while ago, so my memory may not be correct, so I'm here to ask the MTV Board---Book Readers Only and those who are pretty much finished with the currents books b/c I don't remember which book this may or may not have happened in:
I read the other day that the actress who plays Catelyn Stark has just joined the cast of Suits on USA Network and I was little confused, b/c I thought I remembered that yes, her throat was cut at the wedding and I thought she died. Don't they throw her body in the river and she floats downstream somewhere but she's not really dead or maybe she gets brought back to life? I thought I remembered her character becoming kinda scary, zombieish and talking weird b/c of her cut throat. I was just wondering if I imagined the whole thing or if this is written about in one of the books.
When I read that she's on another show now I was kinda like WTH, I thought her character is still around(although the non-book readers aren't supposed to know that).
Am I crazy LOL

If I remember correctly, after the RW the first time we see her is at the very end of Storm of Swords in the epilogue. Therefore, she could show up only in next season's finale for two seconds. And then again, only in Brienne's final chapter in book 4. WHich would give Fairley plenty of free time to work on a different series.

Good question...makes me wonder if they're going to use Lady Stoneheart in the show. I imagine they will and may not introduce her till next season.

Ok, good, I'm not imagining things. I couldn't remember which book that was in. It is kinda cool that she's on another show now so the non-book readers will be really surprised when she shows back up again.

Hopefully they show Thoros or somebody pulling her out of the river by the end of the finale

I am still unsure if it is the Red god or the Great Other that has still yet to surface in the books that brings Lady Stark back from the dead.

What would make you think it isn't the red god?

It was the Red God. Beric sacrificed the last of his "soul" to assist Thoros in raising UnKat. Beric was tired and used up from all the previous resurrections. Since the Red God saw fit to raise UnKat and take Beric, the Brotherhood now follows UnKat.
ETA: Thoros is a priest of the Red God.

I seem to remember the Book 4 Brienne chapter being kinda vague. Is she really dead?

And they've set some groundwork for that with some of the things he's said to Arya this season.
The OP is right though. She doesn't show back up for a bit unless they decide to accelerate her storyline on the show. Since she won't be shooting somewhere like Iceland it would probably be easy to dip in and out of shooting as she needs to if she's around sparingly.
I wouldn't be surprised if they don't reveal that it's her until later either.

Do they actually have a chapter where this happens or was it all implied? Kind of hazy on this. FFC took me a long time to read and sometimes I'd only read half a chapter right before falling asleep.

I seem to remember something about her riding off with Jaime in book five.

I couldn't really figure this out either. I thought maybe she had somehow survived the throat cutting, although it looks like being resurrected is probably what happened.

Hinted at in the SOS epilogue and given details in Brienne's last chapter iirc.
Cat? Yeah, she died...but was revived
Brienne? No. She was given the choice "rope or sword" Kill Jaime or she and Podrick die. She looked at Pod and then said "sword". This would mean that she and Pod were spared. She then found Jaime and is leading him to Sansa...but most likely is leading him to UnCat.

How do you know the word she said?
Posted on 6/5/13 at 11:23 am to Volvagia
I think martin confirmed it in some interview

Well, for one. She was given a choice between "rope and sword". She is still alive so...
Also,
GRRM said so
Also,
quote:
george confirmed that the word brienne screamed was “sword”; lady stoneheart gave brienne the choice of either swearing her sword to her or being hung, saying “sword or noose”, and as brienne was being hung she screamed “sword”
the questions moved on for some time, but then a girl asked “well what about podrick payne? he was getting hung with brienne!” and george confirmed that brienne had made the decision to swear her sword to stoneheart in order to save the innocent podrick payne from the noose

If the actress does go to another show, I think this is one of the characters where you could substitute a new character without too much trouble because of the makeup and stuff that will be necessary to portray her as Lady Stoneheart.

I don't think it was a person, I believe it was Nymeria/Ayra as a warg.

The last we hear of Jaime in book five, if I'm not mistaken, is his running into Brienne when he's instead supposed to be returning to King's Landing. It seems like these POVs never fully die when you expect them to.
What do we make of Jon Snow's ending at the end of book 5?
