My friend Sean Poochie Rivera is revamping the menu at Niche completely. He's a talented guy I think the change occurs on June 16th I'll update as I get a peek at the menu.

Good luck foodi patootie

Good, that place was in need of some inspiration and Rivera actually cares about good food.

Yep, Sean is a good guy and they gave him complete control over the menu. He's busting his arse over there right now to get things ready for the new menu debut in a couple weeks. Hoping it works out for him.

If people think we on the F&DB are critical about food, they have no idea how tough a crowd his previous gig was. There's no pleasing those folks.

Executive chef for St. James Place. Cooking for a bunch of crochety old people is a tough gig.

Looks good. Little heavy for lunch, but good.

I had written them off. This a buddy of yours?

I always see them advertising happy hour specials. How's the draft selection over there?

I went the other day and had the eggplant app. That thing was awesome.

Had grilled chicken with corn mock cheaux. Also very good.

Yeah, but there is lighter fare too. Although the salads would be good for lunch.

Yeah, they gave him complete creative control of the menu. He did well with it, or at least with the stuff I had. They were all favorites of his.

Draft selection isn't great, but there are worse. I had a Canebrake. They have a few Saint Arnolds, Fat Tire, then it kind of goes downhill to the typical stuff. Could use more local offerings.

I had written this place off. Figured they wouldn't even make it a year.

I'll have to give them them another shot.
