According to Michael Wright of ESPNChicago.com, the Bears are going to give Russell a tryout Friday, bringing him in along with three other quarterbacks.

The report mentioned many other players were coming in, which makes it sound like the normal offseason emergency list-updating cattle call that many teams have.

But Russell’s place as one of the biggest busts in draft history will make this one unique.

Good for him.

If he really has been working out he will physically outclass whomever else they are bringing in.

Watch him wind up behind Cutler. He's got to be better than any other scrub coming in.

This is all i really want for him. Teams to work him out. Thats the first step. At 265 and that cannon, he could have a real shot at making a squad.

Wooohoooooooooooo!!

(Bears' STH. I would LOVE to see JRock again!)

Edit: The Bears are VERY thin behind at QB Cutler. Due to a limited number of draft picks resulting from trades, the club was not able to select a developmental prospect. The current back-up is aging journeyman Josh McCown.

Can you imagine being the poor sap that comes in along side JR and within two throws you realize a guy that's been out of football for three years and had to endure a grueling workout regimen to even get to his current weight has 10X more athletic ability than you?

Good luck to JaMarcus.

Josh McCown & Matt Blanchard are currently on the roster. I know that McCown has been able to stick around on rosters as a backup QB. But, JR definitely has the physical tools to stick to Chicago's rosters.

Just wishing the best for him at this point.

Agreed, I also see no problem with him going the CFL route.
