Austin Rivers had one of the worst statistical seasons in NBA history, but sources say the New Orleans Pelicans are unwilling to give up on him turning around his career.

Rivers was the 10th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft as the Pelicans' point guard of the future.

Greivis Vasquez had a breakout season for the Pelicans at point guard.

Do you normally give up on the 10th pick of the draft after the first year?

Dumbest news article ever. No shite.

Personally, I think we should just start him. Let him sink or swim.

Maybe he heard other teams were calling about Rivers, but either way I'm glad we are not looking to get rid of him just yet.

Can anyone with insider tell us what he's actually saying? I read earlier his latest mock had us picking Len so I'm going to assume that this is something along the lines of "between Rivers and Vasquez they aren't picking a PG, which means Len rather than Burke, McCollum or MCW."

I think if that were the case, with the way every other small piece of news gets reported (including this), he would have reported it.

BREAKING NEWS: Pelicans plan to try new strategy of scoring more than opponents in upcoming season. Davis and Lopez agree that they shot shoot the ball in the basket and get rebounds when other teams miss the basket.

We might as well take Alex len. We all know how Monty stressed having a big athletic and strong front court, also we all know that if Austin Rivers, would have not been there, we would have went with Tyler Zeller or Meyers Leonard.

*there

and i didn't read the article. i just read the first sentence that was quoted in OP. i figured Ford was just saying they didn't plan on giving up on him in general, not as a PG.

my bad.

I didn't read the article either.

I just meant I thought it was obvious that I meant "at PG" when I said start him and just let him sink or swim.
