Been trying to think of something to get my dad. If I could find a good female Mountain Feist pup with squirrel hunting blood then I would get that cause he has been wanting one to add to his kennel. Since I cant find one as of yet I have been trying to think of other things he would like. So what are you getting your dad?

K2 120 Quart for the bay boat. He refuses to buy any of these "high dollar" ice chests.

ETA: I asked my crew (wife) for a new fly rod. Looking to win that $1500 Academy gift card for the STAR fly division.

My dad doesn't use the internet or have many choices regarding ammo stores nearby, so I have gotten him some .22lr and 9mm ammo. And going to take him fishing.

Just spending time with him will mean a lot. May could tie the gift with an outdoor trip. A gun accessory with a trip to the range or a fishing pole with a trip to the old favorite fishing hole.

Here's to all the OB Dads and Granddads!

I got a parachord sling with a pretty cool knife attached to the sling for mine for his AR-15. Gave it to him kinda early but he loves it

I agree with that man. I just moved back to my hometown about 6 weeks ago and have spent more time with him during those weeks than I have the last 5 years.

it's hard enough finding gifts for my dad, just for christmas, but add his birthday in as well. What do you get a cranky old guy(75), that all he does is work and play golf. He buys new clubs every other year, so anything golf related is out. He doesnt need any tools or anything outdoor related. I guess I could get him a laborer to help out around the house, but he would probably just bitch because he wouldnt be doing it correctly(meaning, my dad didnt do himself).

Truly, my dad is just happy with a phone call and a card.

Just sending my dad a care package of junk food and western books / movies. I wish I could get him a real gift, but he is in trashcanistan, so anything will be something to him.

This is so important guys, my dad passed away in 2000 and there have been so many times that I wish I could have shared with him the past 13 years. My wedding, the birth of my son 6 weeks ago. Sucks. Enjoy the time with your dads and your kids. Our time here is so fleeting.

But my sisters due date for her and my BILs little girl is the 16th so she might take the best fathers day gift this year. It will be my parents first grandchild and they are in their early 60s

She wins

I will be that cool uncle

Yes, she does. I have only one grandchild and wish for more. Oh, manchild at that. He will be 3 in a month and I already gave him his first shotgun. A sweet sixteen browning that was my dad's that is in mint condition.

Sorry to hear from you guys who don't have the old man around anymore. Pass that love on to your kids and take his place by passing on a good father legacy.

Unfortunately my dad is having surgery to remove his prostate in a couple weeks. Luckily they caught cancerous growths really early so the chances of it having spread are extremely slim. He has to fly to Detroit for a week to get the surgery and the rehab though, so if I want to hang with him, it'll have to be before or after. But luckily he should be fine.
