My son and I picked up on the Firefly reference immediately. That was awesome.
It's kind of funny that they immediately bring in crazy lady as a crazy lady. They don't even transition or anything. It's like "I love my normal life now and this great guy. What dead bodies? Crazy town...ACTIVATE!" I really got to where I didn't care for her at all last season with all of her crazy and selfishness.
It looks like they are trying to do the same thing to Holder. I predict his sweet peice of Kaylee arse will be on the back burner pretty soon so he and old girl can play crazy house together.
I like this show, but they make it real hard for me to like the main characters sometimes.

LOL. What I don't get is that she's no longer a cop. So she's not even being paid to nose around in all of this stuff. After awhile wouldn't the real cops tell her to go home and quit getting all up in their business?

Season 2 of The Wire: McNutty gets knocked down to the harbor unit, finds 12 dead girls in a can, gets himself back on homicide with his old crew
Season 3 of The Killing: Linden is working on a ferry boat, finds 17 girls in the swamp, puts herself back in the game
so, who are the early candidates for the killer? The pastor? Linden's old partner? The prison guard?

How did she gather from that picture where that place was? And why didn't she check it out years ago when they arrest Seward in the first place?

they said Seward's wife was found in an apartment. So, it stands to reason that they weren't anywhere near that old factory. To the cops, this a brand new murder scene, they've never investigated anything there before.

Well, she hasn't really been that involved publicly yet. Although from the previews that's going to change. She may be brought back as a "consultant".

I thought about that also. It doesn't seem that remote to where bodies could just hang out there for years. Pretty far fetched.
On a side note, does anyone else think they make Seattle way to shitty looking? Seattle is gorgeous and it isn't rainig every day. They make it look like Detroit meets Greenland.

Yeah, that's why she was having trouble trying to figure out the picture. Once she found the factory and the dead horses (in the same vicinity I gather) she thought about it. Went back out there and there you go.

I still don't know what led her to that place last night though. Did it say in the episode?

My early guess is whoever that guy was that came to vsit Seward(sp?) in the prison. It wasn't his lawyer. Looked like it could have been his brother.

Linden's partner from the old days (played by Elias Koteas, who would be perfect as a killer) is an intriguing thought. As is the prison guard for some reason.

The dead horses/cows thing, I still don't get at all. I see no connection whatsoever. She moved, she lives and works out on the island, she said as much. She discovered the farm while out on a run.
She gets back home from her run (presumably on foot) and grabs her gun, drives back out there to euthanize that one calf.
The farm in and of itself makes zero sense to me, what's the connection? Who would let all their animals slowly die and rot over weeks and months? That farm has been neglected for months and months - how come nobody discovered it to date. I don't see any connection to the swamp and what I'm going to assume is a dozen young female victims.

Yeah I didn't get it either. I just assumed it was supposed to be some sort of symbolism for Linden.
