We are looking to try chicken litter behind some of our wheat. Where do we get it from and what's the price.

Call your local NRCS field office. Larry Phillips is the district conservationist there. 318-728-4451 ext 120. He should be able to help you locate the litter and give recommendations on how many tons per acre to put out without overloading your field with phosphorus.

Well I guess that's what I will do. I appreciate the help. We have been seeing to case spreaders spreading around here I thought someone might know who they were.

I lived in that part of God's country for years and I never saw anyone get mad because a stranger stopped to ask a question related to a farming practice.

Call LSUAgCenter Macon Ridge Research Station in Winnsboro. 318-435-2157. Ask for Dr. Josh Lofton. Wheat seems to be cutting fairly well right now, considering all the rain and late freeze. Some who put out a little fertilizer because of the wet weather are cutting int the 80's. Will be interesting to see what the state average will be.

This. Call Craig Clark or Carter Moberly. Carter will come and spread it for you as well. Good luck
