What were yall expecting?

To not look like hot garbage, like we have in 90% of the games under Klinsmann?

To not look sloppy, disorganized and confused?

To have the team look like they've actually been on the field with each other before?

To have players play in their actual positions?

To call in our best players?

To not be genuinely concerned about dropping points to CONCACAF teams that have nowhere near the talent that the US has?

To have the team play with *some* purpose? (What does this team do? Do we try to possess? Are we a bunker and counter team? If you know, please share with the rest of the class...)

No one is clamoring to win the World Cup. But to be white-knuckling through qualification (stoppage time win vs. fricking Antigua & Barbuda, first ever loss to Jamaica, first ever loss in San Pedro Sula, creating three shots on goal through the first three games of the hex) is ridiculous.

I'm with Draco, I'm getting a little tired of the Klinsmann era, and I wanted him so bad. No consistency at all. No inspired play.

NO DONOVAN!

Just watched the game. Lulz at anyone saying fire jurgen after that game. We played well up until the second goal and honestly we played decent the entire game. All while missing two of our best players and against a possible top 5 team.

For me, it's a culmination of events. We look like shite in *every* game.

Anyway, I think a lot of my "Klinsmann hate" gets misconstrued.

He genuinely seems like an enthusiastic, likable guy that players can rally around. He doesn't get (or just doesn't do) tactics. So, by all accounts, he relies on Martin Vazquez for tactics. Everything that Vazquez has been involved in (Chivas, Jurgen's top assistant at Bayern) has been a dumpster fire. Jurgen's lone "success" (Germany) didn't rely on Vazquez.

As a leader/manager (in all aspects of life, not just soccer) the way you handle the failings of your subordinates defines your tenure. By being oblivious to Vazquez' failings, or even worse, (IMO) willfully looking the other way, he becomes equally culpable for the failures.

Eh.
No fun to watch this team.
He brings in pointless MLSers.
Starts Sacha, leaves LD off completely.
Freezes out Boca and then Gonzales plays like an idiot.

If we had been impressive so far in WCQ no one would care about a loss to Belgium with our b side.

We haven't been impressive, and its starting to seem like we have no A side.

You definitely know more about the team than I do. However, I have watched just about every US game for the past 5+ years. I have to say that even though we have looked like shite in a lot of games under Klinsmann, we have looked much, much better than what we did under Bradley. Just my .02.

Pretty shocking. After reading the thread I thought the game was going to be terrible. We played really well in the first half. If our backline was better we walk out of that game tied IMO

It's a solid bump, but maybe the germans have a soft spot for klinsman and took it easy for a bit on him. That own goal was suspect.

To be honest, I like that he's getting a wide array of players into the mix. Get as many people experience and see what they can do. Does it suck to see us get pummeled? Of course.

I just feel that Klinsmann's team isn't playing for the lucky game winner, which is how I always felt with Bradley. Don't get me wrong. I will always respect Bradley for where he got with the team, but I think Jurgen brings in a very fiery attitude. Telling Dempsey he hasn't done shite seems a bit much, but it's the truth. He does well in England, and that's good fun. To someone like Klinsmann, his players should be playing solid minutes in decent leagues. I like it.
