Bradley had it right, huh ? Demps n LD out wide, with Bradley and Jones centrally in a 4-4-2.

So much overreaction in this thread. We didn't even play that poorly, Belgium is just really fricking good and their strikers were especially clinical. There probably isn't a player in concacaf who scores their first or fourth goals, maybe someone on Mexico. And goal number 2 was just a pure mental defensive error. Also scored 3 without our first team keeper in.

In addition, we looked pretty dangerous with Jozy and even without him we had some decent possession in their third,
this wasn't like some games where we just can't posses at all. Finally, beligum played much closer to their A team than we did, pretty much leaving out just hazard. We left out Bradley, Johnson, and chandler not to mention cherundolo, besler, and Danny Williams. It's very possible our optimal back line will only included one player who started there tonight

Pretty sure that Juergen even did it against France.

It's not like we're playing with real width anyway, and it's not like the Dempsey-Altidore partnership is working.

Who knows if Cherundolo will even play this summer.

We played pretty bad. Mental errors cost us 2 goals at least.

Our 2nd string keep is almost as good as Tim Howard if not at par.

Danny Williams, is currently a JOKE.

Besler is inexperienced, Chandler is inexperienced. Fabian Johnson doesn't even play as a defender and it's not his natural position.

This team has a lot to figure out in a short time. Unfortunately, we don't have time.

There is a player - manager dynamic that we, as fans, don't see. It'd be interesting to see. The Brian Strauss report has to have some merit. He is usually a good journalist. I think some of the points are spot on.

JK definitely has an ego. That has been seen many many times. However, that's not a bad thing. IF handled correctly. (I.E. Bilicheck, Saban, Phil Jackson, etc).

I just don't understand his selections. Landon Donovan you can't play in our WCQ or Centennial games you aren't in form. Danny Williams, you haven't played in months. Welcome aboard. Stuart Holden, you've been injured for 2 years. Welcome aboard.

Bocanegra n 'Dolo = most experienced defenders. frick with each and not even call them in camp. I understand that Boca hasn't had any PT (although, he has lately). But, he can still help out in camp n etc. I'd take him off the bench in a heartbeat over inexperienced players when we are in Honduras, Panama, etc.

Just my two cents.

The book that will be written after this shite show has run its course will be fascinating. I'm certain of that.

Belgium isn't so good that they convince the back line to play patty cake while their forwards are in the box. We were atrocious on defense and miserably wasteful in the midfield. As the game progressed we held a bit better, but a gold medal in the special olympics is still the special olympics. There is no excuse for the miserable first touch and blind hopeful passing I saw.

we need experience in our back 4 and Goodson shouldn't be playing above Bocanegra, Besler, even Gooch. I think we need to pair someone with Jozy and use a 4-4-2. Im really hoping we start seeing something like this.

Bench
Holden-May even start infront of Jones in 2014
Lichaj
Boyd
Zusi
Shea
Gatt
Corona
Diskerud
Feilharber
Agudelo
Guzan
Edu
Cameron
Parkhurst
Bocanegra

When I think of Bocanegra. I keep thinking of Claudio Reyna. Reyna retired/gave up the captain band all in one swing. Granted it was an retirement announcement. But, I remember cameras, presser, n etc.

Bocanegra never had the opportunity to do that. He was just announced he wouldn't play the day of the game and swept under the rug. What happened to that respect from US Soccer.

I'm aware. But it's uncharacteristic. Granted he is getting older. But, I'm under the assumption something else behind the scenes went down. IMO.

I'd bet money that Dolo is pissed about the Boca situation. I can't wait until we hear the truth. It always comes out.

I said it a year ago.

This team is capable of beating Mexico, but also capable of losing--and losing badly--to every other team in the Hex.
