SEC must be the only conference with true history or rivals

I think so.

The SEC is the only conference forcefuly sticking by old traditions.

The SEC is the best conference in the country.

While there is not a direct cause and effect relationship there, I don't think the two are coincidence.

This sounds like Catholicism, and I love it.

The ACC certainly does not have permanent cross divisional rivals. It rotates

The Big XII used to. Until recently there weren't a lot of conferences with divisions to cross anyway.

shite, you're right.

quote:

UVa----Maryland
Duke----Wake
UNC----NC State
Miami---FSU
VPI----BC
GT----Clemson

Syracuse and Pitt will be designated rivals.

Louisville will replace Maryland as UVa's -- unless the ACC decides to
shake up the divisions.

The Pac-12 does. Standford and Cal always play USC and UCLA. The other teams in the north rotate playing those two teams.

My bad...didn't realize that was the new alignment. Glad to hear the B1G got some common sense. Would hate to play UM twice a year. On the flip side, the new divisions seem a little imbalanced.

This.

The Cali schools refused to be in separate divisions unless they played each other every year.

A lot of it is pure tradition as they're the oldest rivals in the conference.

And a lot of it is recruiting.

Cal and Stanford didn't want to be playing in Los Angeles once every couple of years.
