Fishing Bucktown jetties

So I just moved back from Houston to nola, and I'll be unoccupied for at least a week before starting a new job. I was hoping to get some fishing in, but I've got no boat and have always gone with buddies. My parents live in bucktown, and in the past few years they've built those jetties out there by the coast guard station, which is where I was planning on posting up. My question to the board is, will I catch anything here, if so what, and what kind of set up would you suggest? Thanks in advance OB.
