Underrated NBA teams through history (that didn't win a title)

What are some great, non-title winning teams from NBA past about which most people have forgotten?
Here's one: the 1987-88 Dallas Mavericks. Their 53-29 record wasn't amazing, but they had an elite, uptempo offense with Mark Aquirre and Rolando Blackman on the wings and Derek Harper running the point. A young, sober Roy Tarpley averaged a double-double. Sam Perkins, Detlef Schrempf and James Donaldson were each big contributors as well. They pushed the eventual champion Lakers to seven games in the WCF (home team won every game).

Not really underrated but 2000 Blazers is the best team I've seen that didn't make the finals.

early 2000s Kings teams. mid 2000s Mavs teams were beasts in the regular season.

94 Supersonics. Underachieved big time.

I'm pouring one out for the 2005-2009 Suns
They were so unlucky and mismanaged, no way they shouldn't have gotten at least one title out of that group.

People say the Rockets championship teams were lucky to avoid the Bulls with MJ -- they were just as lucky to avoid the Sonics, who got bounced in the first round two years in a row. The Sonics always had the Rockets' number.

96-97, 97-98 Jazz. Jordan killed their dreams

2005 was so stacked
Nash
Joe Johnson
Q-Rich
Marion
Amare
pretty much all of them at the top of their games

That Rockets team was lucky to get by the Suns, they were down 3 games to 1, losing on the road in OT.

Every Pacers team with Miller on it

The '98 team that pushed the Bulls to seven in the ECF was legit.

Right? I forgot that team won 62 games.
If Joe Johnson hadn't broken his eye socket, I think they win it all that year.

Pacers were loaded in 2005 before the riot. Artest, Miller, Steph Jackson, and Jermaine O'Neal was a hell of a core. Speaking of Jermaine O'Neal, that was a guy who fell off hard and fast.

the Pistons for a few years after they won it. They were still stacked.
