Because it's a non-issue either way. Had they left it the way it was, no big deal. Delete the crosses? No big deal.

92000 people and they just had to use the one that "needed" to be altered.

Not sure why you keep saying this. It's a dishonest argument. You're framing as if to imply that they sought out these guys solely for the sake of "censoring" them.

quote:

Are you ok they altered a picture of their paying customers?
Clearly.

Would you be ok if someone altered a picture of you and marketed for their business?
Clearly. I don't support terrorism like you and your friends.

It isn't as if they removed the crosses and replaced them with pentagrams.

I have known Herb since he was a student work in the SID's office. He is a true gentleman and a great asset to LSU. He will be missed. Mike Bonnette and Verge are great in the Athletic Department, however, the University Relations office without Herb is a nightmare.

. A truly nice guy that represented LSU well. Hopefully he will be in a position to immediately fire the a-hole Gumptard that screwed us on the scheduling.

True this.

Clearly it was a big deal, that is why it was done. It may not be a big deal to you, but it was to the person who made the call.

Not at all. They wanted the photo because it was a great shot (and it is). They altered it because they let their politics guide them. If they did not like everything about the photo they should have chosen another one. They had 92K in the stands, so I'm sure they could have gotten another one just as cool. Maybe you and some of your pals could have made the cool photo for LSU marketing.

You are cracking...this is not a good comeback.

You told me it was not a big deal, so why do it?

If I owned a movie theater and used a photo of you and your pals in the lobby, would it be ok to photoshop piss on your pants? I could caption it with something like " going to the movies is so much fun it will make you pee in your pants."

It might be more important to you then. Maybe the guys with the crosses probably thought their situation was important.

Yeah this was the buzz going around campus this morning for sure. Another person in a high up leadership position leaving.

Herb was a great guy and one of the few that connected very well with the fans and thats something LSU administration has been lacking for some time.

I like Herb but his decision to alter the images of the group of students that painted crosses on their bodies is something I and many others were angry about and I wanted him to resign over such an egregious decision.

So, what? I'm not speaking for them; only me. The end result is that the world changes not one bit, so clearly people are just trying to make themselves out to be persecuted.

Again, completely inconsequential.

Again with the dishonest argument. My "pentagram" comment was to imply that they weren't making it look like these guys were saying or doing something that they weren't.

When that happens, you'll be the first one that I call to lead the charge, you censorship crusader, you.

No, it's people calling out BS when they see it. It won't effect either of us, but it's debate and opinion which is basically why people come here.

Again, completely inconsequential

Not if you are debating this particular issue.

Then why do it? I know you only speak for yourself. The issue was brought forth in regard to Herb and it is being debated.

Don't call me... I don't care about you.

No, it's people pretending certain things matter when they really don't. I think someone said it best earlier when he compared people to a part of the female anatomy.

Sure, it is. I'm debating that it's inconsequential. No one was harmed as a result of this, other than those of us who had to endure the petulant and self-important whining from people like yourself.

I thought you only spoke for yourself. Now you appear to know people pretend certain things matter.

Again, you are ok with censorship and/or altering of photos by LSU

quote:

Whatever shall I do?

Again, you don't have to do anything other than to know that LSU should not have altered the photo for their marketing purposes.

See ya

Church and state, dude. Have you considered moving some place like Saudi Arabia or the tribal region of Pakistan currently controlled by the Taliban?

And there were many more who didn't care and thought it was a non-issue blown way out of proportion. If you are really a Christian aren't you supposed to forgive those who trespass against you?
