actually have one daughter, did the travel softball up to sr. year in HS, so I've been around it a lot,they used to have these tournaments, "college showcase" or something, expressly to cut down on travel for the colleges, they would set up a tent and hand out schollys by the fistful, after a little asking and snooping, come to find out the people giving out the schollys weren't coaches or scouts, they were from the ADs doing everything they could to make sure the titleIX $ got used, warm body, decent grades were the criteria, daughter kept getting cold calls from schools all over our half of the country with scholly offers, have a female friend who is a member of a USCw NC water polo team that never put her toe in the water while at USC, one team member dropped out, and they needed to fill the position so as not to lose the money, as for myself, I have a degree from LSU, as someone questioned earlier,and an athletic letter as well, so I know a little of what I speak
