Have any of you been? Is the area nice? Im heading out there tomorrow morning to spend the weekend on the river. Any advice, or tips?

Check the water levels. Garner state park is beautiful and the water is cold and clear. However, if the water levels are down, you will tube for 100yds and walk 100yds.

If the water is right, it is an awesome place.

I bought some slip on shoes to wear in case we have to walk a little. Whats a typical "good" level for the water?

I remember that Frio river where I learned to swim. But it brings to mind another time where I wore my welcome thin. By transcendental meditation I go there each night but I always come back to myself long before daylight.
