Hi, ya'll!

I'm patiently waiting for 10AM for The French Laundry's reservation line to open up, but apparently, it's almost impossible to get a time.

I heard there are "tricks" and "secrets" to getting one. Anyone been? Anyone know anyone that knows these "tricks"? Any advice/help possible?!

Thank you!

I think BlackenedOut went there so he might have some tips.

Let's assume I don't have either of those.

Anything else?!

Paging BlackenedOut.

I used my Amex rep to get me in when I went in the fall.

Did you contact them 60 days in advance?

I have a good friend that has met and cooked for Thomas Keller once.

This.

My Uncle went this past year. He had to call over a month in advance and lean heavily on some friends.

If you get in, congrats and enjoy. I have his menu in my house, dining their is now a personal goal.

I have their reservation line on speed dial on three different phones.

I am determined!

As have I. Considering this is a LSU website, I wonder if it is the same guy. CIA?

I've heard calling 10 months in advance might work...stupid.

I need a table of 2. You can only call within 60 days.

I copied your name and post so everyone knows you said that.

Don't be picky and be willing to move your vacation to around the reservation. Or just ask to speak to Tommy, they'll love that.

If I managed to do it for Alinea, I'm sure you can do it here.

But you may have to move the ol' trip around.

I'm living there for a month this summer, so I'm free any day or night.

Maybe you could dine at the other place that Tommy K. owns in the same town (I forget the name), and then maybe sweet talk the staff into seeing what they could do?

Since you'll be there for a month, that's doable.

Hmm. We have reservations at Bouchon and Bottega. I wonder if they can do anything for us...
