Looking for the experts opinion on the Springfield Armory 1911 Trophy Match SS? I am considering someone's safe queen right now and want to know impressions and comparing it to something like the SR1911 or an R1?

They want $1100 for it and say they round count is less than 1k.

ETA: This would be my first 1911.

1400 gun brand new

both the R1 and the SR1911 can be had for half of the Trophy match brand new

Trophy match is a soup we of version of an already more than well built 1911 that is a Springfield

SA often puts together guns that other companies would sell for200-300 more than SA offers them for

No brainer IMO

I am no expert but you can't really go wrong with the list you have picked out for your first 1911. The Springfield new ranges from 1450-1600.00.

The ruger you can pick up for 700.00.

I would buy these 2 before the remington. But thats just my prefrence.

I would offer 1000.00 cash and see what happens on the Springfield. If they won't give in go get yourself a ruger and buy 300.00 dollars worth of ammo.

The trophy match is a TRP in a target shooters setup. I'm not sure how familiar some of the people on this board are with that pistol but I can tell you a ruger and an R1 aren't even close to the quality of a trophy match or the TRP. Fwiw I own the R1 and have shot the Ruger. Have had a TRP on back order since march after feeling one up. Go read all the reviews and you'll see the TRP is often regarded as the best production 1911 on the market and is considered better than some semi-custom makes by people who own both.

Well if you're asking if a 1911 loses its accuracy after 1000 rounds, I can tell you for sure that won't be the case.

That's not a bad deal. It really depends on what you want. If you want a match-grade, semi-custom 1911, get the SA. If you want a newer, more mid-range 1911, get the SR or R1.

Hickok45 has a great review of it on YouTube. He was pretty damn impressed with it.

Do you agree with Chessie's above statement?

Don't be like the OT. The OB and its inhabitants are better than that.

Trolling? There are 1911 and CC threads three times a day. I certainly don't think I'm being a dick about it.

He's asking about a specific make and model of a 1911. He's also asking cash value of a used one. Figured you would be on your best behavior since you just got out of Banland but it looks like I was wrong. If you don't like a thread why not just stay out of it?
