There is a script, but I'm not sure of the name. My mom uses it when she goes and says it does wonders.

Yes, the patches that go behind the ears work. Transscop or something is the name. Got my only case of seasick a year ago, I was miserable for like 3 hours.
Have used ginger and Dramamine proactively in the past, but don't know if they helped or I just didn't get sick on those trips.

Take some Dramamine the night before the trip. I wouldnt take the day of he will be very drowsy.

But be sure to thoroughly wash your hands after applying them and do not rub your eyes. The chemical can leave your eyes dilated and while you wont get seasick, you'll be miserable from your eyes fricking with you.

TAKE THIS ADVICE!!!!
Me, Brother, and Stepdad got wasted the night before. I wished for death.
I took Dramamine 1 hr before getting on boat, but wasn't near enough. Need to start taking the day before.

The script is probably promethazine. It will knock your arse out. I worked on a 6-pack for a few summers and I recommend Bonine. You have to take it as directed. The night before and before gettin on the boat. Taking any of those drugs as you get on the boat is worthless. They are essentially anti-histamines.
ETA: We had many customers show up straight from Rome's at 5:30 a.m. still drunk as a Monday on Friday. I had to catch all their fish as they chummed the waters. This is why I hate snapper fishing.

It's probably different on different folks, but Bonine has worked much better than any of the other OTC remedies I've seen.
