How does the FBD crew feel about this gadget?
quote:

Beer drinkers will never have to endure sipping on warm lager again thanks to a new gadget that chills drinks from inside the bottle.
quote:

The Chillsner, developed by Orlando-based gadget company Corkcicle, looks like an icicle and sits inside the bottle in order to keep beer cold 'until the last sip'.
quote:

Designed to fit any standard 9-inch long-neck bottle, the chiller contains a thermal gel which has to be frozen for at least 90 minutes before use
quote:

If pressed firmly, the aluminium device can also create an airtight seal to prevent the beer from becoming flat.

Personally I never have issue with beer getting warm because I usually put them down pretty quick, but I can see it coming in handy if your outside during a hot summer day

If you need this, you're drinking wrong.

I'm sure I'll get one for Christmas.

if you're that horrified of your beer having flavor, you should get better beer

I prefer my beer at a warmer temp (50-60) and if it's a porter/stout even warmer. (60-70)

This thing seems more tailored to the BMC crowd, which those beers shouldn't get hot since you can chug them in a matter or minutes.

exactly what it says

as beer warms, flavors open up that you don't get when it's COLD AS THE ROCKIES (tm)

that's why a lot of craft beers have a recommended drinking temperature of 50+°F

That keeping beer "ice cold" or "rocky mountain cold" or "29 degree taps" are gimmicks for marketing shitty beer.

How was this? I've seen the beers at Calandro's, just never bought one.

Beer needs to be poured in a glass anyway. This would be of no use to me, that's for sure.

Meh not my favorite. I had the Farmhouse before the hop session and it was much better in my opinion

When traveling for work I stopped in at a Twin Peaks, they advertise super cold taps. I tried one of their house brand beers. It actually had no taste whatsoever due to it being so cold. They probably contract out to a BMC type of brewer.

You went in the wrong order!

I enjoyed the Hop Session... it's exactly as decribed, a hoppy session beer.

The other White Birch beers I've tried have all been above average as well.

These things started showing up down here in establishments 8-9 years ago. Only they were in pitchers of beer.

I saw right through the ruse. The things displace probably 6-8 oz's in a pitcher of beer.

I need my beer cold. When I was in the UK for 9 days last month, it was frustrating trying to drink craft beer. Every bar served the beer warm.
